Is it the one with the blue highlight that separates the tab from the content, or the one where the tab whitespace is connected to the content whitespace?

That’s a great question and looks like a chance for us to improve how intuitive our design is, I’ll pass this over to our design team to see about what improvements can be made here!
I can confirm that the underlined value is definitely the selected one, and I’ve confirmed that selected objects should also have text with a slightly different shade, (darker or lighter depending on if Dark Theme has been enabled) and they will also replay the animation when they are reselected.
