Hi Team,

My OS Drive is corrupted.

  • I have octopus deployed on Data drive which is safe
  • I do not have backup of all the configuration, but all the configuration and data are saved in Data Derive which is intact.
  • My Database is on Azure SQL service so that is there as well.
  • I have crated new Virtual server in azure
  • Now I want to attach the same Data Drive to newly created server and start Octopus server
    Could you please help

Hi,
Thanks for getting in touch! I’m sorry to hear you have encountered a corrupt OS Disk.

If you have previously obtained your Octopus Master Key you will be able to do an install using that key. However if you were not able to take a backup of your Octopus Master key before the crash, you will not be able to do a full recovery of your Octopus Server.

You might still be able to get your Octopus Server going again, however any secrets that you had set will be lost. In this situation, you would be able to use the lost-master-key command here.

Yes we did’n had any master key too, so we, we recovered the Octopus with below.

and that really work for me and i am able to get back all that got lost.
