Process to decommission deployment target

I need to decommission a deployment target that is no longer used. Is the suggested process for this…

  1. Remove tentacles in Tentacle Manager
  2. Uninstall Tentacle Manager
  3. Delete Deployment Targets in Octopus Server

Your steps look good. The only other thing I’d suggest to do first, is before removing the tentacle(s), I’d mar each deployment target as disabled in Octopus e.g.

  1. Disable Deployment target(s) in Octopus from the Infrastructure -> Deployment Targets page.
  2. Remove tentacles in Tentacle Manager
  3. Delete Deployment target(s) in Octopus.

You might want to take a database backup / VM snapshot if you want to be extra cautious, but it’s not strictly necessary unless you may need to get back any files on the deployment targets.
