Octopus deploy 2.4.5.46 version - Windows server compatibility

Hi Team,

We have Octopus deploy 2.4.5.46 running on a windows 2008 R2 server. We are planning to upgrade the server to a later windows version. We are planning to take a backup of the application and restore it to the server once the OS has been updated.

We would like to know which windows versions will support Octopus deploy 2.4.5.46. Also, can you please let us know if we will be able to restore the backup of the application on later windows versions?

Thanks for getting in touch!

At the time of release for 2.4.5 I believe Windows Server 2012 R2 will have been the most recent Windows OS available, so I would expect it to have been tested against that.

As this is a legacy version, it hasn’t been tested on any more recent versions of Windows Server. I can’t think of any specific reasons why it wouldn’t work on Server 2016 or 2019, but I can’t guarantee that it will.
