Not Identifying Tag format in GIT

Hi,

I am trying to transfer a repo to an octopus node but it seems that the versioning format applied is not identified by the Octopus Deploy server, is this the case ? or I am missing something? does it need to be in a specific format?

Hi @andrew4!

Thanks for reaching out, and for the great question. Octopus uses SemVer 2.0 for its package versioning, which is likely why you’re seeing this error when attempting to use that version string. You can find more information in our documentation here: Versioning schemes - Octopus Deploy

A common format that we see is using the same general scheme you’re currently using, just breaking it up, so V20210719_1 becomes 2021.07.19.1
