Infrastructure in 2 Octopus spaces

Hi Support,

We’re moving some of our departments into their own Octopus spaces. We came across a couple of departments that have projects that perform some steps against common infrastructure and want to make sure that’s ok.

Can we have the same infrastructure setup in 2 spaces?

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for getting in touch! Spaces were designed to be hard boundaries to ensure the security within each space. This means to use the same deployment targets in multiple spaces you’d need to configure multiple instances within the Tentacle to register it with each space.

This can be done via the Tentacle Manager UI or via scripting with tentacle.exe command line. If using scripting you just need to add the --space=VALUE flag to the register-with command.
