How to take the backup of Octopus 3.x server

Hello Team,

We installed latest version of Licensed Octopus server. I would like to know how i can take the backup of Octopus Server. Earlier we used Octopus 2.6 and has the backup option in configuration tab. Whereas in 3.x version i don’t see that option. Kindly help me out to take the automatic backups of Octopus server.

Regards,
Sandeep.

Hello Everyone,

Can any one please help me out on this…

Regards,
Sandeep.

You have to backup the database and the home directory. See Backup and restore

I use SQL Server Backup for the database and a scheduled task with robocopy for the home dir.

Hi Hanmel,

Sorry for the delay in getting this response to you. I notice that you mentioned you are using Postgres, which is not a supported platform for Octopus.

I would highly recommend using Microsoft SQL Server, as this is the supported platform (including the free version), the link provided in the previous response outlines how to perform backups with Octopus and SQL Server.

I have also found a link (https://www.postgresql.org/docs/9.1/static/backup.html) which describes how to perform backups with Postgres.

Please let me know if you have any other questions,

Regards,
Alex
