GitHub Action not sending commits in build information

I’m using GitHub Actions on a private GitHub repo to push build information to Octopus Cloud and then create/deploy a release. However, when I look at the build information associated with a release, it is not showing any commits or work items - it only shows the name of the branch that the release was created from.

Without the commit information, Octopus can’t identify the Jira tickets, and then can’t update those Jira tickets with the deployment information, so I am missing my DORA metrics in Jira.
