Create Custom Metadata for a release

Hello,

Is there any way to create a custom metadata for every release? The meta data can be like ticket number, backup location, package location etc.

Ideally we would like this details to be displayed on Release Deployment task summary page. We are using Teamcity to create release and trigger deployment in Octopus. What would be the best way to achieve this?

Hi Altaf,

Thanks for getting in touch! Sorry about the delay in getting back to you.
You can use the release notes field to put really any information that you like.
for example --releasenotes "hello world!" which can be passed into the additional command line arguments in the TeamCity runner.

Venessa,

I am afraid that wouldn’t work when I am promoting release from 1 environment to another. The meta-data will differ from environment to environment.
