Cannot create release after IP problems

Hi,

After our recurrent OS security updates, the IP from our Octopus server was changed. It was fixed afterwards and rolled back to the old one and set up as fixed. 
Afterwards, some of the tentacles started to have connection problems and users could not create releases anymore. 
 Our Octopus server version is 2020.1.17 and one of the tentacles with problems (that we are investigating on) is 5.0.13.0.

Octopus Server should be able to handle an IP address change without any issues so it seems unlikely to be related to that. The error message seems to suggest something is wrong at a more fundamental level - possibly a broken installation of the .NET framework. It’s feasible that something has gone wrong during the security updates or during the rollback process.

Hi Charles,

It was indeed a .Net Framework issue on the Octopus server. After the security updates executed, .Net Core was affected and some DLL files removed.
We ran the repair tool, but that did not do the trick. We had to manually rebuild the whole .NET setup, then restarted the service, and only then everything was up and running.
Only the tentacles that did not have an opened session were affected, so that was why only some tentacles were affected.
