Bamboo best practice: create new releases or promote?

Hi,

In your Bamboo example (http://docs.octopusdeploy.com/display/OD/Bamboo) you suggest to have Bamboo create a new OD release for every other deployment environment. I was wondering if what the specific pros and cons are of doing this versus having Bamboo trigger OD to “promote” an existing release from one environment to the other.

Hi Pascal,

Thanks for getting in touch! You should create a new release if there were changes in your code since the last version. If you need to promote code from one environment to another, using the “Promote” feature is definitely the way to go.
