WMI errors when deploying applications


Every now and then when I try to deploy applications to my Octopus Tentacles, I would get WMI errors. The only way to fix this is to go on the server and restart WMI service and then retry deploy. Has anyone encountered this issue before and find any solutions? Or as a bandaid, is there a way to get WMI to restart automatically before each deploy?

Thanks for getting in touch! We have had this issue reported several times before, and currently the only option here would be to place a script step at the start of your project to restart the WMI service before the rest of the deployment commences.

There is not much else Octopus can do to resolve this issue as the problem lies with the WMI service itself. The best we can do is let you restart it via scrip at the start of your deployment.
