Kia ora, Octopus Deployers!
We are developing an Azure Function to process in incoming webhook. It’ll simply put a message on an Azure-hosted Service Bus, and then move on. Simples.
I’m not entirely sure what the “best,” or “most up to date,” method is for Octopus Deploy to push our Azure Functions project out to Azure. There seem to be a couple of options:
-
A community provided Step: https://library.octopus.com/step-templates/03bb1a08-52be-43ad-bdfd-117eb562b414 . This uses “Project Kudu”, which I think is the process that Azure uses to deploy stuff internally…?? From 2017.
-
Just use the “Deploy an Azure Web App” step, provided directly by Octopus Deploy, as per https://octopus.com/blog/azure-functions. From 2018.
Presumably the “Deploy an Azure Web App” step is the one to use… but I’d just to get that confirmed!
Cheers,
Jon
