Web.config file not found

Trying to deploy a new project in Octopus Deploy and I receive the error:

 A web.config file was not found, so no IIS configuration will be performed. To turn off this feature, use the 'Configure features' link in the deployment step configuration to disable IIS updates.

If I download the package however, it definitely has a web.config file in it. I have no idea what to do here.

Hi Matt,

Thanks for getting in touch,

I’m sorry to hear you are experiencing this issue, I understand this behavior can be frustrating.

In order to help ascertain the root cause of this, can I ask that you provide an export of this associated project and verbose deployment log for investigation purposes?

I’ve marked this conversation as private for privacy purposes also.

You can refer to the following links in order to produce the aforementioned information;

  1. Exporting the Project
  1. Producing Deployment Logs

I look forward to hearing back from you regarding this, your patience and understanding in this matter are greatly appreciated :slight_smile:

Kind Regards,

Reece
