Using deploy to start long running load test

Hi:

I’m trying to figure out if I can use Octopus Deploy to start and wait for a long running load test to complete.

While I understand that this is not the best approach, due to security/network configurations, the only way I can access the QA environment in order to start/monitor the load tests is via Octopus Deploy.

I’m concerned with how long the load tests can run. I expect a full load test could take around 5 hours to complete. I just want to make sure that the deployment job/process will not timeout while it is waiting for a PowerShell script to complete.

Thanks

marc

Hi Marc,

Thanks for getting in touch! A deployment will time out at around the 30 day mark.
As long as for your load tests you aren’t expecting a message back it won’t time out.

Hope this helps!
