Upgrading and "duplicate" machine name query

Hi all

Am about to perform an upgrade from 1.6 to 2.0 for the organization I am currently at. They have environments set up, uniquely named, with machines in environments that are same so I see:
environment = DEV
machine = Web01
machine = App01

environment = TEST
machine = Web01
machine = App01

environment = LIVE
machine = Web01
machine = App01

My question is when reading the documentation, I see the sentence "Before attempting to migrate, make sure that you don’t have any projects, environments, or machines with duplicated names (this is no longer allowed in Octopus 2.0, and the migration wizard will report an error if it finds duplicates). "

Would these machines with same names but in different environments be “duplicate” or would this apply to machine names in same environment?

Hi Paul,

Thanks for getting in touch! You will need to rename the machines for the import to work successfully. The name itself needs to be unique across all environments.
