About 3 weeks ago the ‘Updating IIS website named’ etc log entry started disappearing from the deployment logs and I know this because last week some of the deployments stopped updating the website though none of them now have that log entry - even the one that do update.

The task is stil being run, but you are correct that the log entry no longer appears. It will be fixed in the next release.
