Trigger audit log archiving

Hi,
We recently upgraded to version 2023.1 and we saw there are now support for archiving audit logs using the Event retention configuration: https://octopus.com/docs/security/users-and-teams/auditing#archived-audit-events

However, we can’t see that this actually is happening. We tried decreasing the number of days to 30 as well, but there’s no change in DB size after 24 hours.

So three questions:

  1. Is there a way to see the status of the job that archives the audit logs?
  2. Is there a way to trigger it manually?
  3. How often does the archiving job run?

Thank you.

Hi @hallgeir.osterbo,

Thank you for contacting Octopus Support.

Apologies for the confusion. Audit Log Retention was introduced in 2023.1. However, this was only for Octopus Cloud customers. We expect our self-hosted customers to be able to take advantage of this new feature in 2023.2.

If you have any additional questions, please don’t hesitate to ask!

Best Regards,
Donny Bell

Thanks for the clarification on this.

Do you have an estimate on when 2023.2 will be release for on-prem customers?

Hi @hallgeir.osterbo,

Thank you for getting back to me.

Unfortunately, I don’t have an ETA for 2023.2 for on-prem customers at this time. We’ll likely be able to provide a better idea of when to expect our 2023.2 on-prem release in the coming weeks.

Let us know if we can assist with anything else.

Best Regards,
Donny Bell
