We cannot upgrade tentacles from Octopus console when OctopusDeploy Tentacle service is running with non Local System account.
The upgrade reports succesful, but the Tentacle remains the same version.
Is that impossible or do I have to configure something for this to work?

Hi,
Thanks for reaching out. We’ve seen this error before, and it seems to be related with the account running the Tentacle not having permissions to run MSIs. We have a github issue for this, but it was closed already https://github.com/OctopusDeploy/Issues/issues/2023
I’m gonna consult with the team, as this seems to be a problem that is (still) affecting more users like yourself.
Please stay tuned to that github issue for our updates.
Regards,
Dalmiro

Hi Dalmiro
Thank you for your answer.
I’ve already read the github, and as tonii75 the account running the Octopus Tentacle service is member of local administrators group.
If I logon to the server using the serviceaccount and run the Tentacle install it works like a charm.
I’ll stay tuned to the github.

Hi everyone - I discussed this with Shane, who originally opened the github issue, and we decided to re-open it to find the root cause and work on a fix. All updates about this issue will be reflected on this link: http://help.octopusdeploy.com/discussions/problems/39915/r?go=aHR0cHM6Ly9naXRodWIuY29tL09jdG9wdXNEZXBsb3kvSXNzdWVzL2lzc3Vlcy8yMDIz
Sorry for the inconveniences
