TaskLogs directory does it need cleaning?

The files in “C:\Octopus\TaskLogs” is increasing overtime, does this folder need to be cleaned up or is there some process automatically that does it? Are the logs needed by some Octopus process or safe to delete ? See screenshot.

Hi,

Thanks for getting in touch! Octopus reads these logs when you select to show a tasks Task Log in the UI. If you remove them you will not be able to see the Task Log for the respective task. You can still browse to the section, but the UI will not display any of the logging.

Instead you will see The task has not written any information to the log yet.

So whilst they can technically be removed if you would like to without causing any serious issues, it will remove the logs from the UI.

Hope that helps.

Best regards,
Daniel
