SQL Server requirements Octopus Server 2020?

In November 2019 a blog post was created stating that Octopus Server 2020 will require at least SQL Server 2017:

But when looking at the installation requirements on the following page, older versions of SQL Server are still listed:

I would like to know if SQL Server 2016 is still supported for Octopus Server 2020.

Thanks for getting in touch!

We haven’t changed the SQL server requirements for version 2020.1 so you’ll be fine continuing to use 2016 for now.

We do still have plans to raise this requirement this year though.

Hi Bastiaan,

It would be best to assume that our next release will not be compatible with SQL Server 2016 and make plans to upgrade to 2017 or later as soon as possible.
