We are currently encountering slowness on the deployment using octopus and it took almost 2hrs and still the package was not yet deployed. We just want to know what causes this performance issue.

Thank you for reaching us. Sorry to hear you are experiencing this slowness. Could you provide us with the following info so we can help with the diagnose?
Tell us a bit more about your environment like where’s your Octopus server located and where is the tentacle (on premise virtualization, azure/amazon, etc).
Could you please set the variables OctopusPrintVariables and OctopusPrintEvaluatedVariables to True as shown on the link below and then send us complete raw log of the deployment that is taking so long? In case you want to hide sensitive info, please feel free to set this conversation as private.

We are having similar problems. Octopus is getting more and more unresponsive and deploys hang, at least weekly.
