Server seems not to use proxy

Hi
It seems like our Octopus server is not using the proxysettings.

The account running the OctopusDeploy service is logged on to the server and has changed proxy-settings in IE so everything should be ok.
The Use the proxy server configured in Internet Explorer is selected in Octopus Manager.

In our firewall log I can see that the server (placed on local net with private IP) try to connect to an external ip on port 443 when deploying to Azure.

We’ve even tried to set proxy using netsh and we’ve tested the proxy-settings by browsing the Internet.

Is there a way to force Octopus to use proxy?

Thanks

Hi Npn,
Thanks for bringing this issue to our attention. I have created [GH Issue #1774] (
https://github.com/OctopusDeploy/Issues/issues/1774) to track its progress and will provide you with more feedback once further information comes to hand.

Thanks again for getting in touch and we hope that you are still enjoying the rest of your Octopus Deploy experience.
Cheers,
Robert

Hi Robert

Thank you for taking this further.

I’m looking forward to hear more about this and hopefully with a solution.

Hi,

I believe this bug is now fixed. Could you try again with 3.0.8?

Paul

Hi Paul

I will do that – I’ll get back with the result

/Niels

Hi Paul

I’ve now testet Azure-deploy using proxy and it doesn’t seem to work.

I’ve upgraded Octoups to 3.0.9 today with no luck as well

I then have to turn back to NAT in our firewall again

Hi Npn,
Thanks for the feedback. I have reopened the original GH issue and we will let you know how the ticket proceeds. Apologies for any inconvenience.
Cheers,
Robert

Hi,

I was having the same problem until I installed Web Deploy 3.5 on the Octopus Server, as per this post: http://community.octopusdeploy.com/t/unable-to-deploy-application-on-azure-website/344

Perhaps it could be added to the installation instructions until a formal solution is provided?

Cheers,
Dan

Hi Dan,

I don’t know if we would be able to provide a formal solution as Microsoft is guiding that behaviour. http://stackoverflow.com/a/267745/249431
I would like to add a note to our documentation. Which page did or would you consult for this situation?

Vanessa

Hi Vanessa,

There are a number of places it could go on your Support Documentation website but as should be done with the installation of the Octopus Server, it could probably go under http://docs.octopusdeploy.com/display/OD/Installing+Octopus.
