Retention Policy Should Apply to External Feeds

I see there is a Linqpad script out there but this should really be a regular task, just like all of the other retention policies, right? I’m seeing complaints going back several years on this issue, what gives?

What are the challenges that’s holding up this feature? This ran our server out of disk space today, which was not very cool.

Hi Tyler,

Thanks for getting in touch, and apologies for the delay in responding.

Unfortunately, as with all things, the delay is available engineering resources. This particular feature has an existing UserVoice (see here), however it was only created in March this year and only has 7 votes.

The one option that I can think of that may help is configuring Octopus to clear its caches faster than default (which is 20 days). This can be done with the following command: Octopus.Server.exe configure --cachePackages=[days]
