I recently saw that my backups have grown in increasing size and although this is normal I found I don’t care about backups that are 4 weeks in the past. I was wondering if there is a way or are plans to incorporate the retention policies into backups so old backups can be removed automagically.

Currently there’s no way to limit them, but it’s something we want to solve in Octopus 2.4. In the mean time, upgrading to 2.3.3 if you haven’t already may help - we did some work to shrink the size of backup files.
