We create and delete projects quite often.
We have our tentacle retention to keep only the last release on the tentacle.
However, once a project is deleted, the retention policy will never run, therefore we are left with files on the server…forever
Short of creating a scheduled task to just brute force delete all files from the tentacle cache.
Is there a way to get the retention to run on tentacles for deleted projects as part of the server side timed purge?

This is a known short-coming of the Tentacle retention and we’re aware of it. We have this UserVoice to implement such a feature.
It’s a hard problem to solve though as you might not always want to remove the files from the Tentacle even if you’ve deleted the project.
