Repository re-index clarification

After an Octopus Server upgrade, the repo re-index takes us nearly an hour. Can users start using Octopus while the indexing takes place? If we are planning to two upgrades in a row, can we begin the second upgrade while the indexing is taking place?

Answering your questions in reverse order, you can in begin a second upgrade as the indexing is running as the indexing task will get stopped as part of the upgrade, then a new task will start once the upgrade complete.

As for your first question, you can indeed use Octopus while the indexing task is running, all it is doing is verifying that our DB records and what is on disk matches. As long as nothing has changed to fundamentally change this relationship you shouldn’t have any issues.
