Removed-by-Octopus-deploy

Variables with connection string has been replaced with “Removed-by-Octopus-deploy”.
Why? and how to workaround this.

I’m not aware of any situation in which Octopus would replace variable values with that or anything else.
If you check the audit history for the affected project does it show when these values were changed?
If so, what does it list in the User Agent section?
