Prompted variable not appearing when scoped

Hi

After scoping the prompted variables to a particular channel. It doesn’t appear during deployment despite of the Release being of the same channel. Seems like a bug to be as like https://github.com/OctopusDeploy/Issues/issues/2684

Octopus Release version: v2018.7.10

Could you please advise?

Thanks for getting in touch! I’m sorry you’re hitting this unexpected behavior. Unfortunately channel scoped prompted variables aren’t currently supported, and only environment scoping is supported. We agree that prompted variables should work when scoped to channels, and your question has sparked a discussion among my team. For the time being, we have an open UserVoice suggestion to support this which I’d recommend giving some votes and/or comments to.

Allow prompt variables to be scoped to more than just environments

I’m sorry it’s not the news you were after! Would scoping them to environments to differentiate them help at all for the time being?
