Problems installing Octopus on Windows Server 2012

Hello there,

we have the same error, as I found already on the boards, that the following file could not be found: ‘Microsoft.Web.Administration, Version=7.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35’

This is true, but we have IIS 8 installed, hence the Version of Microsoft.Web.Administration is 7.9.0.0.

I guess this requires a new version / build of Octopus to work?

Sorry, my mistake! It’s actual Windows Server 2008 R2, but with .NET framework 4.5 installed. Any ideas?

I’m seeing the same problem here on a freshly installed server (tentacle) with Windows Server 2008 R2, .NET 4.5, and IIS 7.5. Any ideas on what else needs to be installed?

I solved it, by re-registering the .net Framework with the IIS:
aspnet_regiis.exe -i
