It would be really nice if we could see the markdown output without having to do the save > edit > save > edit … dance. Preferably this would show in real-time below the input (like on StackOverflow), however a solution like Tender’s, where you have to click a link/button, is also acceptable.

I’m thinking of using the MarkItUp editor for Markdown support (which has a preview function):

I used the editor that StackOverflow uses when building my blog engine (http://funnelweblog.org) but there are a hundred different forks of it and all of them have tiny defects. I used MarkItUp on another project recently and it seems much nicer.
