Prerelease packages show up in the "latest" column. Why?

I noticed that when creating a release pre release packages show up in the latest column when their version number is the highest available.

Is there any way to prevent Pre Release packages showing in the “latest” column and thus prevent users from accidentally releasing pre-release packages. I would prefer it if Pre Release packes could only be selected through the specific version picker.
