OctopusPrintVariables and OctopusPrintEvaluatedVariables - why the non-production recommendation?

The documentation for the aforementioned variables states for both: “We recommend only using this setting for non-production environments.”

Why is this recommended? I don’t see any negative to showing more logging in a production environment.

Hi Eric,

Thanks for getting in touch! It really depends on your deployment. In a production environment we recommend smaller amounts of output to logs due to the fact that if there is too much output, your task can be finished on the server well before you see the final results on screen due to delay and parse time. If there is an error and you do not see it until x minutes later then this would be a problem on a production environment. Obviously the choice is your own and if you already have minimal output in production you should be fine.

Hope that helps!
Vanessa
