have you ever considered creating a Octopus “AppStore”? Was thinking along the lines of a Nuget.org-like portal with applications that are Octopus-compliant. A bit like Chocolatey, but for Octopus web apps? Maybe http://www.myget.org/ is a good fit, if not rolling one self
For instance: I have a simple Team City build monitor app (build screen). Instead of download the source from GitHub, building it, and publishing it myself to a server - why not use an Octopus AppStore? Just add the AppStore to the Octopus feed list, and deploy it.
Need a way of prompting for config variables though.
