Multi tenant release defaults to all tenants incorrectly

When creating a release under multi tenant I noticed it defaults to deploy to all applicable tenants even though the checkbox has not been marked.

Steps to recreate:

  1. Click create new release
  2. Click save
  3. Click Deploy to xxx

After thinking about this it appears that multiple tenants are selected because of the tenant tag that is auto populated (v2.x).

That being said, from looking at the attached images, there is still an issue around selecting a specific tenant.

At this point if you select a specific tenant it does not filter the list because the v2.X tenant tag seems to be overriding it.

Pre-steps:

  • Create 2 or 3 tenants with a shared tag.
  • Create a channel for tenants in that specific tag

New Steps to reproduce:

  • Click create new release
  • Click save
  • Click Deploy to xxx
  • Select a specific Tenant

After selecting a specific tenant multiple tenants will still be showing in the preview if you have a tenant tag selected.

Hi Colin,

I’m sorry for the very delayed response here. Are you still having this issue?

We had some problems with automatically adding tenant tags and tenants here. I believe this issue was fixed in Octopus version 2018.3.1.

Let me know if you are on this version of later and still having issues with your Tenanted deployment.

Sorry again for the delay in getting back to you.

Best regards,
Daniel
