Hydra - deploying to all roles

Hi. We’re planning to upgrade to version 3 and to upgrade all the tentacles using the Hydra package. We have a lot of machines and roles across the environments. Is it possible to simply deploy to all roles (something like a master role) or would we need to add every role that is currently assigned to a machine to the Upgrade project prior to deployment?

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for getting in touch. Only adding at least one of the roles of each machine should be enough. There isn’t such thing as a “master role”, but its actually not a bad approach. You could manually add this master role to all your Tentacles, or you could use Octoposh with the following functions to add/remove a role to all the Tentacles on your instance.
