Https://octopus.com/ is down?

Octopus website seems to be down. https://octopus.com/ - This webpage is not available

Hi Rod,
Thanks for dropping us a line. Fortunately it currently seems to still be online and accessible for us and have not heard of this problem affecting anyone else. Are you having any other networking problems. Are you able to trace route to the octopus.com domain?
Cheers,
Robert

Can connect from mobile connection, but not through the corp environment. Thanks for the response, will see if corp support can help.

We are having this issue in our company as well since about a week back. Doesn’t work on my mobile either.

Looking at the SSL server test [1] I have a suspicion that because of how https://octopus.com/ is configured security wise (TLS 1.2 only, Graded A) it cuts off a lot of incompatible clients. While this is a good practice for sites requiring high security I think blogs and update downloads should be maximising compatibility rather than security. I am still asking corporate support to review the problem and see if there is a workaround. I think, however, site config need to be reviewed with general information and downloads to be accessible.

Hi Rod,
I appreciate the extra information you have put together around this particular issue however this situation was explained recently in a post by Paul. Unfortunately due to certain PCI compliance tests that we have to meet for our payment system, we currently only intend on supporting TLS 1.2. This is currently supported by all major modern browsers so we expect its impact to be minimal.
Im sorry that this isn’t probably what you were hoping to hear, but I hope that you are able to find a way around this requirement.

Please let me know if we can be of any further assistance regarding this.
Thanks again,
Rob
