How to update Calamari only on a single target?

I want to update Calamari only on a single machine. I have a button like that:

which I’m afraid to click, because I’m not responsible for all those 20 other servers, I don’t want to touch them. Is there a way to achieve what I want to do from the Octopus UI?

Thanks for getting in touch,

It’s definitely possible to update calamari on a single deployment target as you’ve outlined.

From the screenshot you’ve provided you appear to be running an Octopus version prior to 4.x

I’ve included the steps below on how to perform the Calamari update specific to a particular machine.

In summary;

1. Navigate to the Environments area within Octopus

2. Select the desired Deployment Target

3. Navigate to the Connectivity tab of this Target

4. Select the Upgrade to Latest Icon

You’ll notice that after the upgrade has occured the other machines will still require an update though the machine you specified will no longer contribute to the 21 machines needing an update.
