How do I remove a deployment?

I have deployed a Windows Service through Octopus Deploy but I have decided to retire this service as it is no longer needed. Is there a way to simply remove the service through Octopus Deploy?

Thanks
Ryan

Hi Ryan,

Thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately there isn’t a way to automagically rollback the deployment that was done on the server and then delete the deploy from Octopus. You’re gonna have to manually delete the service from the VM.

If you have many machines with this service and you feel comfortable enough using Powershell to stop/delete the service, you could use the Script Console to run a script on X amount of servers to do the cleanup in an automated and auditable way.

Thanks

Dalmiro.

Ok, I will try using the Script Console. Is deployment removal on the list of future features to be added to Octopus Deploy?

Thanks

Hi Ryan,

Its not on our future plans to include such feature on Octopus. You can propose the idea on Uservoice, and if it gets enough love from the community we might consider including it on future releases.
