Failed to create new Instance

Hello,

I have installed the latest evaluation version of Octopus Deploy.
I tried to create a new instance beside the Default one from the Octopus Manager but this step fails on the RavenDB setup, full log below:

Any ideas?

Hi Dennis,

Thanks for the email, currently the only way to work around this is to use the command line to configure RavenDB to listen on a different port. I’ve noted the bug here to be fixed next release:

Paul

Hello Paul,

Thank you, I was able to workaround this issue by creating a custom PowerShell script which does the instance creation.

With kind regards,

Hi Paul and Dennis,

What is the command line to configure RavenDB to listen on different port ?

Thanks

Hi,

When you create a new instance, on the last page of the setup wizard, there’s a big green “Install” button. Next to it is a link - “Show script”. When you show the script, the second line will look like this:

Octopus.Server.exe configure ....... --storageListenPort="10931"

You’ll need to change this setting. You can then also add to that line:

 --commsListenPort="10943"

Both these port numbers need to be changed to be unique.

Hope that helps!

Paul
