Deprecating Service Management API support for Azure App Service

Hi ,

As per the microsoft announcement reg ‘Deprecating Service Management API support for Azure App Service’,

We can see some .Net SDK related depreciating API s in azure portal which is as part of octopus deployment.

Please suggest are we doing some modification w.r.t the same.

Hi,

Thanks for getting in touch. It is our understanding that the features that Azure team are deprecating only relate to those things that Octopus would be using a Management Certificate to deploy (with the exception of Cloud Services, we have been told they will continue to work as they do today).

So we recommend moving your deployments to use Service Principals to avoid any issues.

If you have any custom scripts they should also be migrated to use the Resource Management methods and cmdlets rather than the Service Management ones.
