Deployment not properly setting credentials for a Windows service

I’m having a problem when deploying an update to a Windows service. Specifically, it is not properly applying the credentials so the service is not able to start. We have double checked that the variables being used have the correct user and password and scope assigned. We’ve also checked that the password is correct. It works fine if we manually set the credentials on the service. Any idea on this?

Our developer found the problem:
"When you disable and re-enable octo deploy steps, the disabling wipes out the password if you are using a password for service installation. So when you re-enable it, you would have to re-put in the variable on the password field… "

Hi, thanks for getting in touch! I’m sorry for the delay in getting back to you on this one. I’m very glad to hear you found the problem. We appreciate you letting us know how your developer found it.

Please feel free to keep in touch if you have any questions here.

Kind regards,
Lawrence.
