Custom Installation Directory for Azure web app deploy

Hi Team,

I want to deploy few files in the azure web app which is not present under the website root.

Path to Deploy: D:\home\SiteExtensions\AppDynamics.WindowsAzure.SiteExtension.4.3.Release
Default Directory: D:\home\site\wwwroot

I’m using the default Octopus azure deploy step template (Deploy an Azure web app) and I’m setting the custom path as Relative value in “Physical Path” which is under “Deployment” section. But still I’m not able to do the deployment.

Attached all the error and configuration with this ticket

Octopus Deploy Version: 4.1.8

Hi Karthikeyan, thanks for reaching out.

This is not something that we currently support. You can use the physical path to deploy to a subfolder which in turn can be configured as a virtual directory in Azure. You won’t, however, be able to break isolation and deploy outside of the root folder for security reasons.

We don’t have much control over this behaviour so isn’t something we can potentially provide.
