I’m looking for a solution in case a rollback needs to be performed after a successful deploy. I think the best way to do this would be to create a snapshot of the target database before deploy, put that snapshot in the artifacts, and then if a rollback were needed do a redgate compare between the target database and the snapshot of the database before the deploy. I am unsure of how to accomplish this though.

Hi Cliff,
Thanks for reaching out! From Octopus’ view, this is totally possible with the use of rollback scripts for your snapshots. It’s mainly a question that depends on Redgate and how they compare the snapshot to the current database and how that tool works. Though I’d love to be able to give you a great solution on how to use that tool, it’d be more informative to approach them with these questions at support@red-gate.com.
Kind regards,
Kenny
