Copying to new Octopus Instance

Hi,

Is it possible to copy the following to a new Octopus Deploy without re-installing the whole Octopus database?

  • Octopus Projects (excluding Releases)
  • Script Modules
  • Step templates
  • Variable Sets

The reason I ask is because I’m reviewing how I can develop new projects on a Test Octopus before proceeding to transfer my changes to a Live Octopus.

Hi Binh,

Thanks for getting in touch! It looks like what you are after is the Import/Export manager available inside the Octopus manager. We have some good documentation on how this can be done from inside the manager that I will link below.

You will be able to select you you want to be imported by simply deleting folders that are exported before you import them.
