Copy/extract file after installation

We have an ELK stack to support surveillance using the HeartBeat component.

One way to automatically enroll a service could be to add the necessary heartbeat configuration (yml file) as part of the nuget package and then transfer the yml-file to the “heartbeat server”. Is it possible to add a step doing that ? Or perhaps someone has a better idea ?

Hi Aage,

Welcome to the Octopus community!

Thank you for the question.

One way to do this is to copy the file in a post-deployment script.

If you need to replace any values in the YML file you can use the Octopus Substitute variables in files functionality.

Please get back in touch if you have any further questions!

Thanks,
Lianne
