Changing Tentacles (Windows VM's) from Polling to Listening

Hi,

We are changing all our windows VM’s from polling mode to listening mode.

At the moment, it looks like we will have no choice but to remove the tentacles from octopus and re add them (thus creating new machine ID’s) Could somebody confirm this is the only way or if it is possible to keep the existing machines in place while changing from polling to listening?

The reason I ask is that it will obviously affect scoping in variables if any variables have been scoped to machines.

Unfortunately you are correct in that the only way to move from polling to listening (or vice versa) is to remove and re-add them to Octopus. If you believe that this functionality (Tentacle connection type migration) would be useful for other users (or indeed yourself in the future) I would recommend raising a UserVoice as that will assist us in gauging community interest.
