I am Prabhjot, working on Octopus Deploy. I am using run a script step in process and using API key in that. While deploying I am getting unauthorized error and the deployment is not getting failed and so when I am cancelling the deployment, it says cancelling… and it’s been 10 hours and it still shows the same. Basically it hangs while cancelling.
Please let me know why is this happening and what should I do so that it doesn’t hang. One more thing to mention is I am not using deployment target here I am using the option deploy using octopus server.
Thanks for getting in touch! I’ll need to get some further information from you to better understand what could have caused this issue.
Would you be able to let me know what version of Octopus deploy you’re currently running?
Would you be willing to share the contents of the script? (Either here or the at the below secure location, with any sensitive information such as API key removed.)
If possible, restarting the Octopus server should work to force cancel this task and get you unstuck. If you can do this, could you then download the full raw task log for the stuck task and send it through to the following location? I’ve authorised your email to securely upload files here.
Would you also be able to upload a system diagnostic zip from your server to the same location? (Configuration → Diagnostics, there will be a button to download a full diagnostic report which contains server logs and other helpful troubleshooting information.)
Looking forward to hearing from you and getting to the bottom of this.
