applicationSettings vs appsettings

Hi guys,
I am trying to use variables in Octopus but I stuck a little bit with applicationSettings vs appsettings. Variable are bot applied automatically on settings defined in applicationSettings of web.config file. When you go to project->settings in your web application - VS will automatically create applicationSettings section in web.config for you. It looks like Octopus can not handle the section and does not substitute any settings with variables. Hi Anton,

Currently only appSettings are replaced - I’ve actually avoided applicationSettings for a long long time so I actually forgot they existed when building this feature.

I’ve added the idea to the backlog as something to implement soon:

Thanks for the suggestion!

Please consider allowing a switch so that any section in a config file can be updated, not just app settings and connection strings. eg in web.config we would like to replace <system.net> attributes on a per environment basis
Thanks!

Sorry xml in previous post was stripped, it should have been:
