Access denied for Offline package drop

Hi,

We have a project with 7 packages.
The standard online deployment works as expected.

The offline deployment fails with Access Denied error (see Error 01 screenshot)
The actual files which are shown as failed (e.g. Brady.CMS.Sloe.Agent.16.0.0.67.nupkg) have been correctly created in the target folder.

When I logon to VM running Octopus server using the account that Octopus service is logged on - I can add/edit/delete files in the destination folder.

Could you please advise how we can diagnose and resolve this issue?

Hi Mau,

Thanks for getting in touch. I attempted to replicate this issue on my server to no avail. Would you be able to check a couple of things for me?

We have sometimes seen this issue when there is an antivirus on the server blocking us from writing to certain files. Are you able to confirm that your antivirus is not locking Octopus from writing to this file?
Can you confirm that the journal.xml file is being created? It should be in the same folder that Octopus is deploying the offline application to.

I confirm that there is no antivirus running on the app server where Octopus Service is running (server name: EDIVS-PS8)

Hi Mau,

I had one more thought. Could you delete all of the deployment journal xml files on the network share drive, revert back to that directory and try two more deployments? It was creating those tmp files and one of them did have two records in it.

Let me know if that makes any difference.

I’ve removed journal.xml file + all temp files but kept the actual folders with data
Retried the deployment – it failed.
